Guidance

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you imagined.” –  Henry David Thoreau

The CVES Guidance Department provides scheduling to students to ensure they are working towards the appropriate diploma and/or credential and enrolled in the required credit bearing classes. Our Guidance Department also completes the intake process for new students.

Intake Process:

  • When new students are referred to our school an intake is completed with parents and student.
  • This allows staff to make appropriate placements within our array of programs.
  • During this process all registration information is completed as well as a social history.
  • Relevant and useful background information on new students is acquired. This is necessary to be able to meet students educational and emotional needs.
  • This is also a good time for parents/guardians to meet their child’s teacher and therapists and begin to establish home/school communication.
